Ezines & Newsletters:
Marketing articles reflect strategic thinking, research and knowledge on a subject, ultimately shared by the power of the pen. Whatever Title is used – an accurate description must be included in the promise made in the article body. This article covers one of the four List Building methods mentioned in my previous article and is covered in depth in the free eBook, don’t forget to sign up for both the eBook and the Overview.
Nothing is ever set in stone, however a good response from readers may be obtained, and this is one of the methods used to communicate the products or services you advertise.
Using articles to build a list is most definitely all in the “style of writing”, it is a means to grow a communication connection with your current readers and possibly find new readership. If the topic provides valuable information, readers may decide to visit your site via the (back-link) URL you provided when submitting the article.
This URL link is normally to your blog, in some cases a landing page; the “author resource box” is provided by the article directory submission site, read the instructions before posting. Make use of the Resource Box wisely to benefit from readership growth to your blog, keep them spellbound throughout the article using the closing paragraph to lead naturally into the resource box as a follow-through!
Personally I use EzineArticles for the following reasons:-
- excellent reports are supplied
- tutorials and guidelines are offered
- articles must be unique – “submit your best original work”
- they have a high page ranking due to popularity – take a look for yourself.
This does not mean to say that just because you have submitted articles, that your articles will be found and used, it may take some time before being recognized. The decision is yours as to whom you wish to use, there are many article submission directories out there.
Like everything else you have done to get you blog up and running, keywords play an important part in the planning of articles. Keywords used efficiently will help people to find your ‘latest edition’ and ultimately your site. Find keywords on Google with low competition, if the words are highly competitive, look at ‘local’ or be more specific.
Example on Google Search: List Building (results = 95 600 000) “List Building” (results = 135 000): now try – List Building New York (results = 167 000 000) and “list building New York” (results = 3). Use Google Ad Words: Keyword Tool and you will find some great tutorials, so give it a bash, if you haven’t done so already.
Keyword cramming is not acceptable, take the time to go through tutorials available online, and learn good ways to use your selected keywords. Normally a mention or two of the keywords in the first three sentences, and then mentioned again in the closing sentence or paragraph are felt to be the norm.
For exceptionally long articles a 1% keyword density to a maximum of 3% is felt to be acceptable. This means an article with 1000 words contains no more than 10 to 30 keywords. Keep in mind to distribute the keywords out over a long article, do not overuse keywords and make the article sound like a cheesy sales pitch.
Keep in mind what you set out to achieve; the use of articles is to attract people via exceptionally good narration to visit your site, then entice readers to sign up onto your email list. Once signed up, you can go into more depth in Newsletters on a follow up sequence via an auto responder.
Articles and Newsletters are similar in that they must be entertaining, with interesting content or people will not be coming back. Remember writers are competing with video and audio, so be creative, very creative! Readers must look forward to hearing from or they will unsubscribe, leaving you in the dust.
So let’s ‘Get It Going’ – List Building, it is the ingredients to success.
Thought for today: “Associating with like-minded, success-orientated, joyful individuals – or Dream Teaming – is the most amazing success tool that exists.” – Mark Victor Hansen
